CKC September Kit Layout

Just popping in to share a quick page I made with my September CKC kit, "Here and There".

This paper from the Crate Paper/Maggie Holmes "Gather" collection was easily my favorite piece from my kit:
"Details" Paper / Gather Collection

In order to get as much out of the paper as possible, I decided that I'd cut it up.  I used quite a few of those rectangles to make a vertical border on the left of my layout:

I liked how the rectangles looked against the rustic wood-grain paper.  I attached the strips using adhesive just on the left side, leaving the right free to curl up or down a bit.  I ran two lengths of stitching down the side, and added a few word stickers to the border to break up all the pattern.

I then stamped a quote, using a set of alpha stamps that I picked up at Michael's many years ago.

I'll be back later this month with my project for the CKC blog's second September challenge.  And you'll be seeing that "Details" paper again!

  1. Really love the sun glow in your photo. I used to collect quotes - I need to hunt up my little notebook & start using them. I had to giggle - I have a multitude of those alpha sets from Michael's! A few faves enjoy a permanent place near at hand.
