More CKC Mini Kits and Projects

I'd said earlier this month that I was so inspired by our July inspiration that I made three mini kits and created a layout from each one. I already shared my first one, so I'm back today to share the other two. I had specific photos and stories in mind as I pulled my supplies, which made it a little easier to tailor my choices.

I've been trying to put a dent in my 6x6 patterned paper supply, so all of my kits this month contain that size papers.  I think the smaller size also fits well with the mini kit concept; there's just enough to make a project or two without leaving much left over.

The first one was prompted by some of the nautical items in the kits from the ScrapRoom.  I began with the navy anchor paper and built the rest of my page kit from there.

I put the kit to work making this page:

I pulled out an old ticket punch and used it to make the background of my page.  After I added my journaling strips and one clear sticker to my photo, I just added a few sequins to finish off the page. I also outlined the page border to connect all the page elements.

My final kit was inspired by the bright colors in some of the offerings from the ScrapRoom.

And here is the page that resulted from this kit:

I did have a few leftover embellishments but since I included a lot in each of the three kits, I wasn't too disappointed to have to return them to my supplies.

Thank you for stopping by today - I hope you are enjoying this month of July!

  2. Every time you mention 6x6” paper pads I cringe! Using that ticket punch was really clever.

    1. Oh no...do you "collect" them, too?! I went through every one I have and pulled out the papers that I know I will use. The rest are all in a stack headed to the local elementary school. My pile feels much more manageable now.
