CKC February Mini Kit Reveal and Project

It's that time again - time for the reveal of my mini-kit for the Counterfeit Kit Challenge blog.  We are using the luscious and very full Noel Mignon Weekend in Paris kits as our inspiration this month:

There were so many lovely images and colors in these kits!  They really gave me a carnival feel and so I kept that image in mind when I chose the pieces of my kit.  My kit is a little larger than usual this month so I'm considering it more of an add-on kit than a mini:

The very first item I chose was actually a roll of black and white striped washi tape and then I pulled papers and embellishments that were light, bright and fun.  I've got four patterned papers, two stamp sets, some chipboard stickers and banners, a small pack of die-cuts, puffy camera stickers and black alpha stickers in a whimsical font.

Here is the first page I made with my kit:

I was excited to see that some of the chipboard banners matched the stripes in the patterned paper so I used them to "fasten" the black & white polka dot paper to the striped background.  And then I played "connect the dots" to make lines for my journaling:

I kept the  rest of the embellishments simple, just using a strip of that black & white washi and three chipboard "+" signs.

I still had plenty left in my add-on kit so I made two more layouts.  I'll be back in a few days to share them here.

In the meantime, you can stop by the CKC blog here and check out Leslie's mini kit.  If you play along with us this month, please add a link to your project on the CKC blog here.  You can also share on Instagram - we're @counterfeitkitchallenge there and you can use #counterfeitkitchallenge and #ckcfebruary2018 to tag your posts.  We also have a Facebook community and we'd love to see you sharing there as well - we're the Counterfeit Kit Community.

  1. I'm curious who manufactures the stamps and the chipboard frames from your mini kit?

    1. The frames are from an old Gossamer Blue kit and the stamps are also from Gossamer Blue. They were designed by Elle's Studio and are probably 4-5 years old.

    1. Thanks, Doreen! I wasn't sure that the journaling would work on that dotted paper but thought it was worth a try!
